Story details

Madrid Metro has activated a remote-assistance service on its new ticket machines. Passengers can contact a trained agent in real time for questions, guidance or help buying travel tickets; 24 station employees have received specific training.

The service will initially be available on 214 machines across 47 stations, with video calls enabled on 72 machines. The rollout is part of the €9 million Estación 4.0 equipment-renewal plan, funded through the EU Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
