The cost index for diesel-powered buses stood at 123.3 in the second quarter, with Q4 2021 set to 100; it was 4.2% higher year on year but 0.9% lower than in Q1.
Statistics Norway’s quarterly index for scheduled bus transport put diesel-bus operating costs at 123.3 in Q2 2026, using Q4 2021 as the base of 100. The index was up 4.2% from a year earlier but down 0.9% from the first quarter.
The auto-diesel sub-index was 125.6, 9.0% above the same quarter last year and 3.7% below Q1. The index tracks changes in costs and can be used when bus contracts are priced; it does not measure fares, productivity or operators’ profit margins.
