The National Statistics Institute published provisional August 2026 business turnover figures on 19 October. Its general index, adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, rose 8.1% from a year earlier; the unadjusted annual increase was 9.1%.
In the adjusted series, energy, water and sanitation activities rose 33.3%. Turnover increased 8.7% in industry, 6.3% in trade and 4.1% in services. The composite index is not a direct measure of profits or physical output.
