Story details

The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ministry of the National Economy said in press release 163/2026, dated 5 October, that its national consumer-protection platform LOBA would officially launch on 6 October. The tool lets consumers report problems with goods or services, consult guidance on consumer rights and available procedures, and follow the progress of a complaint.

LOBA is to coordinate the Competition Commission with sector regulators covering telecommunications, banking, insurance, electricity, air transport, pharmaceuticals, food and health. The ministry said centralising requests would help identify recurring consumer issues. The announcement sets no service-resolution target or reported outcomes.
