In the Scottish Household Survey 2025 finance findings published on 13 October, 52% of households said they were managing well financially. The corresponding figure was 54% in 2024, with the report describing the levels as similar. In 2025, 9% said they were not managing well. These are respondents’ assessments, rather than directly measured income or poverty rates.
Among households with net annual income up to £10,000, 28% reported managing well and 26% not managing well. For income above £30,000, the figures were 60% and 5%. The report’s under-£10,000 group had 37% reporting no savings, compared with 14% above £30,000. The publication excludes 2020 and 2021 from the comparison because data collected during the pandemic are not comparable.

Measurement and privacy details
Google Analytics measurement starts only if you allow it. After consent, automatic measurement may cover scrolls, outbound link clicks, downloads, video engagement, site searches and basic form interactions; search terms may be detected from URL parameters. This site’s own code does not send form field values; email redaction in automatic measurement is best-effort, not guaranteed. Our manual page-view event uses a cleaned URL. You can change your choice later. Visits that begin with consent may also send numeric LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements after Analytics loads. A first or later grant starts this on the next page load; withdrawing consent stops these performance reports for this page. The preference cookie lasts six months; advertising measurement and personalization stay off.
