Story details

Russia’s Federal State Statistics Service, Rosstat, put second-quarter 2026 gross domestic product at RUB 56,166.3 billion at current prices. The physical-volume index was 1.3% higher than a year earlier and 8.1% above the first quarter. Rosstat did not describe the quarter-on-quarter comparison as seasonally adjusted. Final consumption expenditure totalled RUB 40,769.8 billion; household consumption accounted for RUB 29,582.5 billion.

The year-on-year real-volume index rose 4.2% for final consumption and 5.2% for household consumption. In contrast, the volume of gross accumulation fell 8.4%, while fixed-capital accumulation declined 4.5%. At current prices, gross accumulation was RUB 13,060.5 billion and net exports were RUB 1,952.6 billion. Rosstat’s table calculates component shares against GDP after excluding the RUB 383.4 billion statistical discrepancy, so the expenditure components do not sum to headline GDP. The figures describe GDP by the expenditure approach and do not by themselves measure output performance in individual industries.
