The August total for passengers on board at arrival and departure was 5,231,110, Statistics Norway said in figures published on 28 September. International flights carried 2,545,755 passengers on the same combined measure, 1.8% more than a year earlier; domestic departures counted 1,342,718 passengers, down 2.4%.

Available seats on international flights fell 5.5% to 3,249,515. SSB’s “passengers on board” counts include transit passengers; it is not a count of unique people. The series covers commercial transport reported by airports, and SSB notes that four smaller airports were not included in the August collection.
