Story details

NorthWest Copper reported new assays on 21 October from three holes in the Western Zone at its Kwanika project in north-central British Columbia. Hole K-26-346 returned 110 metres grading 0.64% copper and 1.10 grams of gold per tonne, or 1.86% copper equivalent, from 378 metres downhole. Other reported intervals included 115.1 metres at 1.19% copper equivalent in K-26-259 and 50.9 metres at 1.19% in K-26-264. The 110-metre downhole interval has an estimated true width of 84.3 metres, according to the company.

The company said K-26-264 also intersected a previously unrecognized zone above known mineralization, grading 1.07% copper equivalent over 30 metres. The three holes were drilled on one section to tighten spacing to about 50 metres; assays had been reported for 14 of the 43 holes in the 12,291-metre season. Intervals and copper-equivalent values are company-reported exploration measures; the remaining assays and technical studies will inform the ongoing preliminary economic assessment.
