Story details

On 2 October, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, announced that its 2026 Sustainability 365 programme would run from 5 to 31 October. The chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business organises the initiative, which focuses on sustainable food security and resource use. The programme brings companies, experts and stakeholders together through events, seminars, workshops and specialised training to exchange knowledge and explore practical measures for business operations.

The schedule opens with the Essential Resilience: Securing Food, Business, and Communities Forum at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters on 5 October. The chamber describes it as a business forum connecting UAE food-security priorities with company decisions on diversified, resource-efficient supply chains. Its agenda is set to move from national context to UAE examples and a practitioner discussion. It addresses food trade, distribution, logistics and retail, sectors involved in sourcing, transport and consumer access.

An interactive session with Ehfaaz is scheduled for 6 October and is described as the FOOD IS NOT WASTE® business simulation. Dubai Chambers says participants will take roles across the food value chain and respond to realistic pressures around sourcing, supply, demand, surplus and resources. Teams are expected to consider how choices in one part of the chain affect others and explore measures to reduce avoidable food loss and waste, improve resource management and support business continuity. The published schedule describes a learning exercise; it does not report measured waste reductions or binding commitments from participating firms.

A 7 October Food Engineer workshop is listed on food education, food security, sustainability and entrepreneurship. The wider programme includes specialised Purpose Academy training; its online courses cover sustainability and ESG. The academy calendar also lists a 27 October session on international standards, food security and business resilience, and a 30 October session on sustainable food systems. Established in 2004, the Centre for Responsible Business says it supports companies with knowledge and tools for responsible practices. Its other activities include the Dubai Chamber of Commerce ESG Label, a Sustainability Network and business mentoring. Sustainability 365 is an annual initiative developed from the chamber’s earlier Sustainability Week activities to encourage year-round engagement. The 2026 schedule combines a supply-chain forum, circularity simulation and learning activities for food businesses.
