Story details

BEEAH and the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment (EKTIFA) have signed a cooperation agreement on operational waste management, according to Emirates News Agency’s 22 October report. The partnership concerns resource efficiency and waste practices in Sharjah’s agricultural and livestock sector.

Under the agreement, EKTIFA will organise collection at designated sites, supply agreed quantities on operating schedules and carry out initial sorting through its facility-management teams. BEEAH will transport waste from approved collection points at EKTIFA projects in Mleiha according to an agreed schedule.

The transport arrangements include measures against leakage, odours and pollutants. Containers are to be cleaned and disinfected regularly using environmentally approved products. These provisions describe the responsibilities and intended operating safeguards; the report does not quantify waste already diverted, recycling rates achieved or financial savings.

The agreement links food-production operations with waste collection and transport. Its environmental impact will depend on implementation and measured results. The source’s 22 October date is the report date and does not establish a separate precise signing day.
