Dubai’s real gross domestic product (GDP) reached AED473 billion in the first half of 2026, down 2.3% from about AED484 billion in the same period of 2025, according to data released on 18 October by the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment. GDP at current prices rose 0.2% to about AED505 billion. The divergence between real and current-price measures shows that nominal value alone does not describe changes in output volume.
Financial and insurance activities grew 8.8% in real terms to AED65.9 billion, while health and social work grew 14.3% to AED6.2 billion. By contrast, real value added in wholesale and retail trade, the largest activity, fell 6% to AED96.9 billion; transport and storage value added declined 7.4% to AED50.6 billion. The statistics agency said inflation meant trade’s increase at current prices translated into a real contraction after adjustment. The figures cover the first half and do not by themselves establish full-year results or quantify causal effects.

Measurement and privacy details
Google Analytics measurement starts only if you allow it. After consent, automatic measurement may cover scrolls, outbound link clicks, downloads, video engagement, site searches and basic form interactions; search terms may be detected from URL parameters. This site’s own code does not send form field values; email redaction in automatic measurement is best-effort, not guaranteed. Our manual page-view event uses a cleaned URL. You can change your choice later. Visits that begin with consent may also send numeric LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements after Analytics loads. A first or later grant starts this on the next page load; withdrawing consent stops these performance reports for this page. The preference cookie lasts six months; advertising measurement and personalization stay off.
