Story details

Azerbaijan presented its gastronomic tourism offer at the Terra Madre Salone del Gusto international festival in Turin on September 24-27. A September 29 statement by the State Tourism Agency said the national stand, titled “Azerbaijan: Biodiversity, Heritage and Taste,” featured culinary traditions, local food producers and regional products.

The September 25 programme included a workshop focused on Azerbaijani honey. The agency also promoted a Caucasus “Slow Food Travel” route connecting Shamakhi, Ismayilli, Gabala, Sheki and Gakh, linking local food culture with producers and destinations. The source reported no visitor totals or tourism-revenue effect for the stand, so the event is evidence of a promotional activity rather than a measured commercial outcome.
