Story details

The Authority of Social Contribution–Ma’an and Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) launched Nama on 21 October. The pilot covers selected underused farms in Al Ain and is intended to help turn them into sustainable agricultural, tourism and commercial destinations. Participating owners are to receive farm-management content, technical and field consultations, and support to improve operations and visitor readiness.

The initiative also draws on Abu Dhabi’s rules allowing farm owners and licensed establishments to undertake 145 approved economic activities. Authorities said expansion beyond the pilot will depend on evaluation results, performance indicators and the quality of the experience; no number of farms or investment amount was announced.
