The US Department of Agriculture’s October 9 World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report put projected 2026/27 world ending stocks of total grains at 787.84 million tonnes, up from 778.32 million in September. Its world grain trade forecast for the same marketing year was lowered from 527.85 million to 524.23 million tonnes. This is a global supply-and-demand outlook, distinct in scale from the report’s individual US production estimates.
For wheat, projected world trade was cut by 2.80 million tonnes from September to 208.97 million, while production was nearly unchanged at about 822.4 million tonnes. The oilseeds production forecast fell from 723.46 million to 722.20 million tonnes, and projected vegetable-oil ending stocks declined from 30.80 million to 29.92 million tonnes. These are USDA projections for 2026/27, not realized sales or harvest measurements.

Haber Paper source-linked editorial data compilation; underlying sources retain their separate reuse terms.
Transcribes September and October global projections from the report; marketing-year figures are not presented as calendar-year data. Numeric values retain source scales; bounds are distinct from exact equality. Sorting must account for units and indicator scope.
The Senate passed the Raw Materials Research and Development Council amendment at third reading, while two agriculture proposals cleared first reading.

Measurement and privacy details
Google Analytics measurement starts only if you allow it. After consent, automatic measurement may cover scrolls, outbound link clicks, downloads, video engagement, site searches and basic form interactions; search terms may be detected from URL parameters. This site’s own code does not send form field values; email redaction in automatic measurement is best-effort, not guaranteed. Our manual page-view event uses a cleaned URL. You can change your choice later. Visits that begin with consent may also send numeric LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements after Analytics loads. A first or later grant starts this on the next page load; withdrawing consent stops these performance reports for this page. The preference cookie lasts six months; advertising measurement and personalization stay off.
