The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure said on 20 October that a delegation led by Sharif Al Olama had completed a five-day working visit to China. Representatives of Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and AD Ports Group also joined the delegation.

A Shanghai roundtable examined possible cooperation and investment in clean energy, hydrogen, nuclear energy, storage and smart mobility. The delegation also visited the Yangshan Port Phase IV container terminal to review smart operating systems, autonomous equipment and digital port management.

Discussions covered advanced batteries, electric vehicle platforms, mobile charging robots, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, and technologies to electrify vessels and ports. These were areas assessed for potential UAE applications; the announcement provided no signed agreement, investment amount or project delivery timetable.
