Story details

Türkiye’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said on 8 September 2026 that decisions published in the Official Gazette had increased support for crop and livestock production. For the 2026 crop year, the per-decare crop support coefficient rose from TL310 to TL367; it had been TL244 for 2025. The coefficient for the 2027 crop year was set at TL442. For wheat, barley and maize, combined base and planned-production support rose from the earlier TL806 to TL954 per decare for 2026 and TL1,149 for 2027. Planned-production support for lentils and chickpeas increased by 141% to TL884 per decare in 2027. These are support rates per unit of land and crop year; each farm’s total payment depends on its eligible acreage and other conditions.

For 2026 livestock support, the base payment per calf increased from TL1,400 to TL2,000, the water-buffalo calf payment from TL2,800 to TL4,000, and the lamb/kid payment from TL300 to TL430. The shepherd payment rose from TL81,000 to TL116,100. The beehive payment increased from TL140 to TL250 for members of producer organisations and from TL100 to TL200 for non-members. Silk-worm support rose from TL1,100 to TL1,500 per kilogram, while mohair support rose from TL160 to TL220. The ministry also reported increases of 30% to 100% in base support for aquaculture, depending on species and production method, and a 60% increase in payments for animal genetic resources. The decision revises support rates; it does not report the amount actually disbursed.
