Story details

Türkiye’s Central Bank raised the growth limit for loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from 4.5% to 5% in macroprudential changes announced October 1. It said the measures support financial stability and banks’ liquidity management. The threshold is a regulatory limit; it does not show how much banks actually lent.

The notice also said ratios for holding Turkish-lira required reserves in blocked accounts had been lowered. It did not give the revised rates, so the release alone does not quantify liquidity released or additional credit. Effects can be assessed against later bank-balance and lending data.
