Story details
South Sudan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the African Development Bank discussed the proposed RASED programme during a project-identification mission from 29 September to 2 October. The ministry said the five-year proposal would address agri-food systems, skills development and entrepreneurship.
The proposed total cost is UA 60 million. The ministry reported UA 20 million committed, another UA 20 million requested and awaiting approval, and a possible UA 15.5 million from Germany’s KfW, subject to confirmation. Targets include 40,000 farming households, training for 10,000 young people and women, and 30,000 jobs. The ministry said planning continues and these figures may change.
