Story details
The Scottish Government announced the Scotland–Massachusetts Bio-Bridge on 11 September. It is intended to bring Massachusetts business leaders to Scotland to explore investment and collaboration and help Scottish life-sciences companies meet investors and commercial partners, navigate US regulations and access health-care providers.
The Scottish and UK governments are each contributing £49,000 to the programme. The government says Scotland’s life-sciences sector generates around £4.9 billion in exports and approximately £10 billion in annual turnover. The sector strategy’s £25 billion turnover ambition for 2035 is a target, not an achieved result.
