Story details

MSF and Epicentre launched BRAVO on 19 September to study the use of ERVEBO among 20,000 frontline workers in Ituri and North Kivu; the study will include vaccination and follow-up.

The study will assess ERVEBO use during the current Bundibugyo-virus outbreak. The vaccine is licensed against the Zaire species; MSF says any possible protection against Bundibugyo must be established through research. The planned study will last nine to 12 months, including three months of vaccination and at least six months of participant follow-up.
