Story details

Rostec’s Shvabe optical holding presented new sensor arrays for cameras covering a broad spectrum from visible light to short-wave infrared at the Microelectronics 2026 forum in Sirius on September 30. According to Rostec, the arrays use a photosensitive layer made from semiconductor nanocrystals known as colloidal quantum dots.

The company says the technology could help cameras see through fog and smoke, inspect medicines and food without opening packages, and support all-weather navigation systems. The announcement provided no independent test results for the new arrays or date for mass production; it describes a product development presented at an industry forum.
