Story details

Energetica India published a question-and-answer interview with Neuron Energy co-founder and CEO Pratik Kamdar on 8 September 2026. Kamdar linked the company’s expansion from two- and three-wheelers into commercial EVs and grid-scale storage to shared engineering and manufacturing capabilities. He described stationary storage as a complement to the EV business, using related cell, battery-management and pack-engineering skills rather than replacing mobility.

Kamdar said the automated Talegaon facility covers about 2.8 hectares, has annual capacity of 5 GWh and is designed to make up to 1,000 containerised BESS units a year. These are capacity claims made by the executive; the interview gives no actual annual output, sales or utilisation rate. Capacity is not the same as production, and the “1,000 units” figure does not by itself specify product size.

In the interview, Kamdar said lithium-ion would remain important for established EV and storage applications in the near and medium term, while sodium-ion was being evaluated for cost and resource availability. He said solid-state and aluminium-air technologies still need progress in manufacturability, economics and commercial readiness. These are the company executive’s technology assessments; the interview does not independently test or establish the superiority of any chemistry.
