Norway’s government decided on 8 October that the next procurement of air-ambulance aircraft services will use competitive dialogue. The current Avincis contract is due to expire on 30 June 2030, and the government said it is starting the process now to support nationwide emergency preparedness.

The announcement says quality and innovation will be weighted more heavily than price, with preparedness, ownership and possible staff transition among the topics in the procurement dialogue. Pilots and technicians are intended to retain their current terms if a new supplier takes over. This is a procurement decision for the next contract period, not a contract award.
