Jordan’s Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat opened Norvia Tech’s new branch in Amman’s Abdali district on September 15. A ministry statement carried by Petra says the semiconductor company will establish an engineering center and that the branch is expected to begin operations this month. The opening was presented as part of Jordan’s effort to build local capabilities and connect with global semiconductor value and supply chains.

The statement says specialized university programs have been introduced and their first students admitted this month, while sector incentives and legislative and customs frameworks are still being developed. Norvia Tech’s general manager said the center would bring Jordanian talent together with international expertise. The announcement gives no investment amount, job count or manufacturing capacity; it describes an engineering center rather than a chip fabrication facility.
