Story details

A Jazan Chamber report on logistics-sector opportunities was covered by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on 19 October. The report says the region could better integrate its ports, industrial zones and transport networks with agricultural and fishery production to develop storage, refrigeration, processing and distribution services. The stated aim is to improve local products’ access to domestic, regional and international markets.

The report identifies Jazan’s Red Sea location, proximity to African markets and combination of agriculture, fisheries and industry as strengths. SPA’s account says mango output exceeds 65,000 tonnes a year, from more than one million trees and over 60 varieties. The chamber points to potential investment in sorting, packaging, cold storage, juice, drying and canning, which could extend the marketing period and reduce waste. These are opportunities identified in the report, not announced investment commitments.
