Story details

San’s Regional Agriculture Directorate held its monthly review of the 2026 farming campaign on September 6. Local agriculture officials reported irregular and insufficient rainfall, delayed sowing and some plots that had not yet been planted.

Participants recommended regular agrometeorological monitoring, early-maturing and drought-resistant varieties, closer extension support and better communication with farmers. A fall in yields was described as a risk if conditions persist, not as a measured outcome.
