Story details
Mali held a consultation and validation workshop on its draft updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) on October 1. A government report published October 2 said the meeting included the environment, energy and agriculture ministers, local authorities, private-sector representatives, civil society and development partners. Their comments and recommendations were gathered to finalise the document.
The environment minister said the draft sets a 25.25% reduction in emissions from energy, agriculture and waste by 2035 against a reference scenario. This is a target in the national climate contribution; the report does not say the document has been formally adopted or that the reductions have been achieved. The government described the text as being finalised to reflect national priorities and stakeholder input.
