Madrid awarded a four-year, €16.4 million contract to renew 294 Metro escalators.
Madrid has announced work worth €16.4 million to renew 294 escalators across the Metro network. The regional government said the four-year contract had been awarded following consideration by its cabinet.
Metro operates 1,712 escalators in total. The work includes replacing step chains and modernizing mechanical and electrical systems, control cabinets, and safety and communications components; original manufacturer parts will be used for compatibility.
