Story details

A preprint describes a workflow for mapping a small neural simulation of Caenorhabditis elegans to Intel’s Loihi-2 neuromorphic hardware through NeuroML2Loihi. The study addresses the cost of repeatedly updating neural and synaptic states in software.

Neuromorphic chips use event-driven computation and localized memory, but mapping biological models onto them requires suitable tools. This work focuses on a small-scale simulation and does not report a complete digital replica of the worm.
