Story details
An official Petra report on 2 September described restoration work by the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority and the International Union for Conservation of Nature under the Enhancement project. It rehabilitated the native forest ecosystem in Hisha and replanted juniper trees in their natural habitat.
A solar energy system was installed at the authority’s model nursery, alongside a 200-cubic-metre pond to collect and reuse greywater. The project also supported the Asila nursery as a training space for women cultivating native plants and an e-marketing platform for local products; the announcement gave no further operating-capacity measure for the installations.
