Jordan’s Dates Association forecast the 2026 date harvest at about 40,000 tonnes, compared with 36,000–37,000 tonnes in previous seasons. Petra reported the estimate on September 15 and said the association linked the increase to stronger local and international demand.

The association said imports of other date varieties range from 15,000 to 20,000 tonnes and that Medjool imports are prohibited to protect local growers. The output figure is a seasonal forecast attributed to the association, not a final harvest tally.
