Story details
Jordan’s Ministry of Labor signed two agreements on 13 October with Millennium Farms and Safe Food for Agricultural Industries (Afico) to support the hiring of 171 Jordanians in agriculture and food industries. Petra reported the ministry statement, which said the initiative also seeks to increase women’s employment.
One agreement supports 121 hires at Millennium Farms in Wadi Araba for one year. The second supports 50 jobs at Afico’s Agricultural-Industrial Development Complex in the Southern Jordan Valley, Karak Governorate, with wage support for three years. Under ministry fund rules, the support covers 50% of the minimum wage, a JD25 transport allowance and a JD25 monthly social-security contribution per worker. The companies are to provide training, written contracts and social-security enrollment.
