Story details

The Pays de la Loire regional agriculture directorate (DRAAF) announced on 19 October that fieldwork for France’s 2026 farm-structure survey was under way. The national survey runs from 15 October 2026 to 28 February 2027; the regional directorate says about 3,500 holdings in Pays de la Loire are included. A preliminary phase involving a subsample took place in July and August.

The survey covers the 2025–26 crop campaign and asks about farm structure and legal status, labour, crops and livestock, irrigation, fertilisation, diversification and agricultural methanisation. It also collects information on the effects of climate events on production and infrastructure and on adaptation measures. DRAAF says the survey is mandatory under EU agricultural statistics rules; the announcement sets out fieldwork, rather than reporting survey results.
