Story details
The Iraqi government, FAO and the World Bank launched a project in Baghdad on September 29 to improve farm management and test collection models connecting dairy producers to markets. A United Nations in Iraq release dated October 1 says the Ministry of Agriculture oversees the project, FAO implements it and funding comes through the Iraq Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction Fund (I3RF).
The programme aims to directly benefit around 7,000 rural households in selected governorates, particularly small livestock farmers and women, through productive assets, capacity development and climate-smart practices. This is a target, not a count already reached. The release does not state the funding amount or name the governorates.
