Egypt’s State Information Service reported on 24 September that the Egyptian Tourism Authority hosted representatives of 14 Russian companies working in luxury tourism and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions travel on a promotional visit to Cairo and New Alamein. The programme was organised with Royal Manta Travel, GlobalStar’s exclusive representative in Egypt.

ETA chief Ahmed Youssef said the visit formed part of efforts to diversify Egypt’s tourism products in Russia and promote destinations including New Alamein and the North Coast. Participants visited the Giza Pyramids plateau, the Grand Egyptian Museum and hotels in New Alamein. The report does not say that the companies agreed to new travel packages, flights or bookings. It does not specify the trip’s exact day, so the event period is given at month precision.
