Buffalo Potash announced on 22 October a binding letter of intent with Altius Royalty Corporation for CAD 8.5 million in royalty financing. The agreement was entered on 21 October. Altius would acquire a 1% gross overriding royalty on Disley West and a right of first offer over similar financing at Disley East.

The payment comprises CAD 3.4 million at closing and CAD 5.1 million after specified technical conditions relating to brine circulation are met. The royalty would be granted in two 0.5% tranches. Buffalo said Edenwold and Odessa are outside this agreement, while Disley East is covered by the first-offer right rather than the new royalty.

The financing is intended to advance the initial production module, which targets first output in the first quarter of 2027 and has designed capacity of 125,000 tonnes of soluble-grade potash annually. These remain targets. Buffalo warns that the production decision is not supported by a feasibility study of mineral reserves and that no reserves are established, increasing the risk of technical or economic failure.
