Story details

Brazil’s National Supply Company (Conab) published a weekly crop monitor on 5 October covering planting and harvest conditions for the new season. The agency’s page labels the report period as 28 September–4 October, while its linked crop-stage and planting-and-harvest tables are labeled 26 September–2 October. The percentages below are therefore progress snapshots for the observation windows named in the attached monitoring material, not a nationwide end-of-season production forecast.

Conab’s 5 October crop-conditions summary records wheat harvest at 36.4%, first-season bean sowing at 13.1%, rice sowing at 19.7%, first-season corn sowing at 30.8% and soybean sowing at 9.4%. It reports rain and hail damage to some wheat fields in Rio Grande do Sul, harvest delays in Paraná while grain dries, and a risk that excess rainfall could restrict winter and summer crops in southern states. Planting and harvest progress differs by crop and state, so this one-week snapshot does not establish final yields.
