Story details
Brazil’s National Supply Company (Conab) said on September 28 that rainfall was supporting the start of the 2026/27 crop season. Its Agricultural Monitoring Bulletin, released on September 25, reviewed rainfall, planting and harvesting across the country’s main grain-producing regions from September 1 to 21.
Rain supported early planting and development of first-crop rice, corn and soybeans; soybean planting also began in areas where the sanitary planting break had ended. At the same time, heavier accumulations affected 2025/26 winter crops at different growth stages, particularly in wetter regions. Conab presented this as an assessment of observed field conditions, rather than a production forecast.
