Story details
A weekly crop-conditions report published by Conab on 12 October said planting for the 2026/27 season was advancing in some areas, while rainfall both supported and slowed field operations. Soybean sowing stood at 15.6% nationwide; progress was reported in Mato Grosso and Goiás, while excess moisture was identified as a key constraint in some areas.
First-crop maize sowing reached 33.5%, rice sowing 23.6%, and first-crop bean sowing 18.1%. The report also said 40.3% of the wheat crop had been harvested and noted that heavy rain in southern states could affect harvesting, planting and disease pressure. These percentages are crop-monitoring estimates in Conab’s report dated 12 October, not final production results.
