Story details
The African Development Bank Group said on 7 September that its board had approved a one-year Global Energy and Fertilizer Crisis Response Framework on 1 September. It is designed to provide demand-driven support to African member countries facing immediate price shocks and help them withstand future disruptions.
The framework can add $4.1 billion in African Development Bank lending and up to $960 million from the concessional African Development Fund. The extra capacity raises the Bank’s 2026 lending target to about $12.7 billion. The announcement describes a financing framework, not money already disbursed to countries.
