Aena tenders €41.7 million Valencia runway renewal
Aena has launched a €41.66 million tender to renew Valencia Airport’s runway and related airfield infrastructure. The work is planned for May 2027 to July 2029 and will require coordinated overnight closures during major works.
In a 21 October notice, Aena said the contract covers renewal of runway 12-30, changes to several taxiways and improvements to the perimeter road. The 27-month project is scheduled to run from May 2027 through July 2029.
The runway work includes resurfacing, slope correction and levelling, LED runway lighting and PAPI guidance lights, plus drainage and electrical upgrades. Aena says major works will require closures from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.; it will coordinate the timing with airport operators and give airlines advance notice so they can rearrange flights.
Madinah Buses revised schedules across 16 routes to reduce waits; services connect neighborhoods with the high-speed rail station, the Prophet’s Mosque and the airport.

Measurement and privacy details
Google Analytics measurement starts only if you allow it. After consent, automatic measurement may cover scrolls, outbound link clicks, downloads, video engagement, site searches and basic form interactions; search terms may be detected from URL parameters. This site’s own code does not send form field values; email redaction in automatic measurement is best-effort, not guaranteed. Our manual page-view event uses a cleaned URL. You can change your choice later. Visits that begin with consent may also send numeric LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements after Analytics loads. A first or later grant starts this on the next page load; withdrawing consent stops these performance reports for this page. The preference cookie lasts six months; advertising measurement and personalization stay off.
