Story details

Zain KSA and DataVolt, a company focused on data center investment, development and operations, signed a non-binding memorandum to explore establishing data centers in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Press Agency reported on September 1 that the MoU was signed during LEAP 2026 in Riyadh. The parties said the planned facilities would address demand for cloud services, digital applications and artificial intelligence technologies.

SPA said the planned centers would prioritize energy efficiency, sustainability, flexibility and scalability, with infrastructure for high-density computing, advanced cooling and high-capacity connectivity. The announcement gives no site, investment value, capacity, schedule or binding construction commitment. It records an exploratory agreement and stated intent; it does not establish that financing is final or construction has begun.
