Story details

Schneider Electric, NVIDIA and Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced a collaboration on 21 October to advance physical AI in process and heavy industries. Their initial demonstration combines HPE Private Cloud AI infrastructure, NVIDIA AI components and Schneider Electric’s operational-technology expertise, with the aim of running AI applications at the industrial edge, close to plant operations.

The first announced agents focus on monitoring operational technology, assessing cybersecurity issues and optimizing energy use. The companies say local deployment can help keep sensitive data within operational boundaries, protect security and manage cloud-related costs. This is a supplier announcement; it provides no independent measurement of the capabilities or results at specific sites. The release points to Schneider’s operational-technology monitoring system, which CMPC Chile has used in production for three years, as a foundation; that does not mean the new agents are already deployed at the same scale.
