The World Bank’s country growth and jobs report, released on 17 September, estimates that comprehensive reforms could raise Seychelles’ GDP by 13% by 2040. The projection includes 2,900 additional jobs and the equivalent of over 7,600 better-paid jobs.

The report recommends modernizing labour and business rules, making better use of human capital and accelerating digital transformation. Real wages could rise nearly 8%. Ageing, skills gaps, high costs and limited digital adoption constrain growth.
