Story details
The UAE Ministry of Finance and the Federal Tax Authority held an eInvoicing awareness event for businesses in Ras Al Khaimah on 27 September. The ministry said the pilot phase, launched in July 2026, had advanced to practical testing, with the five-corner model operational. The pilot lets businesses and accredited service providers test the end-to-end flow, from issuing and exchanging invoices to reporting tax data to the Federal Tax Authority.
Entities covered by the system with annual revenue of AED50 million or more have until 30 October 2026 to appoint an accredited service provider, the ministry said. It confirmed that the first mandatory implementation date for those entities remains 1 January 2027. Businesses can select a provider, register through EmaraTax and complete technical integration before testing interoperability and operational compliance; the announcement does not mean that eInvoicing is already mandatory for every covered taxpayer.
