After a 12 October meeting at Matignon between the government and fuel distributors, TotalEnergies said it would pass on the benefit from releasing strategic stocks at their historical cost to customers in France. The stated benefit for road diesel is about 10 euro cents per litre, to be reflected in prices across its 3,300 stations subject to market conditions.

The company also announced discounts of 20 euro cents per litre for non-road diesel and €200 per cubic metre for domestic heating oil. The measures are limited to three months; TotalEnergies said its existing €2.25-per-litre diesel price cap would continue after January. These are company commitments, not observed pump-price results.
