TotalEnergies announced on September 10 an Acacia-5 near-field discovery on Angola’s Block 17 and entry into two exploration blocks. TotalEnergies operates Block 17 with a 38% interest; the company said Acacia-5 would be developed quickly using available capacity on the Pazflor FPSO.

It expects the discovery to add 6,000 barrels per day to Block 17 production, with first oil targeted three months after discovery. TotalEnergies also entered Blocks 17/25 and 32/21 as operator with a 40% interest; these are company targets and agreements, not reported production results.
