Customs said it would expand the system from October after a pilot at Port Sudan’s southern port.
Sudan’s Customs Authority plans to roll out the Advance Cargo Information system (ACD) at all ports and border crossings from October, according to a 30 September report by SUNA. The system requires importers to submit cargo documents before arrival.
Officials said the pilot operated at Port Sudan’s southern port. They expect wider use to speed customs clearance, reduce waiting and storage costs, and help combat document fraud. The announcement did not report measured results.
