Story details

Madinah Region recorded 2,432 new commercial registrations in the third quarter of 2026, taking its active registration total to 93,075, according to a Madinah Chamber bulletin reported by Saudi Press Agency on 22 October. The regional total represented 4.9% of active registrations nationally, the report said.

The bulletin reported growth of more than 29% in registrations linked to e-commerce during 2026, compared with 23% nationally over the same period. The region had 2,198 registrations for e-commerce activities, equivalent to 4.2% of the national sector total. The announcement does not state the precise cutoff date for that growth comparison.

Other activity counts included 2,055 registrations for real-estate development using modern construction methods and 1,988 for tourist accommodation management. They represented, respectively, 4.7% and 9.7% of the corresponding national activity totals, according to the bulletin.

The figures describe the composition and expansion of the commercial register. They do not measure online sales, business profits or employment, and a registration count should not automatically be treated as a count of distinct operating companies. The third-quarter registration flow and the broader 2026 e-commerce growth window are separate measures.
