Story details

Rostec’s Shvabe holding and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) signed a cooperation agreement during the Microelectronics 2026 forum, which ran from September 27 to October 3 to develop energy-efficient electronics and photonics. The Rostec announcement says the work will target technologies that could be used in processors, memory and sensors, with the aim of reducing electronic devices’ energy use.

MIPT will develop materials and prototypes, while Shvabe will adapt prospective solutions to device and manufacturing requirements. The collaboration will sit within an advanced-microelectronics research-center program based at MIPT. The release describes a research and development plan; it does not announce a completed product, manufacturing capacity or commercialization date.
